School Administration
We are incredibly proud to announce that our students have secured the first position at the annual District Level Science Fair held this past weekend. Competing against over 50 schools from across the region, our team's innovative project on "Sustainable Urban Farming" caught the judges' attention for its practicality and scientific depth.
The project, developed by a team of three students from Grade 10—Anjali Rai, Bikash Thapa, and Sunita Lama—focused on using IoT sensors to optimize water usage in vertical gardens. Their prototype demonstrated a 40% reduction in water consumption compared to traditional methods.
A Journey of Innovation
The journey began three months ago in our school's science lab. Under the guidance of our Science Department Head, Mr. Rajesh Sharma, the students spent countless hours researching, coding, and building their model. "The dedication shown by these students was exemplary," said Mr. Sharma. "They didn't just want to build a project; they wanted to solve a real-world problem."
"Winning this fair is not just about the trophy; it's about knowing that our ideas can actually make a difference in how we live our lives in the city." - Anjali Rai, Team Lead.
What's Next?
As winners of the district level, our team has now qualified for the National Science Olympiad to be held in Kathmandu next month. The school administration has pledged full support for the team as they refine their project for the national stage.
We invite all parents and students to join us in congratulating our young scientists during the morning assembly this Friday. Their success is a testament to the spirit of inquiry and excellence that we strive to foster at Siddhartha Model Secondary School.
